Two-Step Correction
A two-step correction separates the work into a cutting stage to remove deeper defects and a polishing stage to refine the finish and restore clarity. It commonly reaches around 85–95% defect removal and is the usual choice for moderately swirled paint or when you want a noticeably deeper, cleaner finish under a coating.
Three-Step Correction
A three-step correction adds a heavier cutting stage before polishing and a final refining stage. It targets the highest defect removal — often 95%+ — for a show-quality finish on hard paint, dark colors that reveal every flaw, or neglected paint with heavy swirls. It takes the most time and skill.
